Independence Day for the Greatest Nation on Earth

As we venture closer and closer to the day when we celebrate our independence from another nation I ask that we should all reflect upon what we have as Americans. Whether we differ in mind or spirit we live in a nation that embraces diversity of people and backgrounds. This great country beckons for us to become what we want to be and does not choose our lot in life. Through sweat and hard labor we can shape our futures and not have an oppressive government determine our future for us. We each pull ourselves up by our bootstraps daily and venture into the great nation hopefully not asking what this country can do for us but what can we do for ourselves. This is the greatest nation on earth just ask all of those who wait patiently to gain admittance as citizens so they can realize their dreams for themselves, their family and their new country. We are truly fortunate to live in this great land from sea to shining sea. Please view the link below it is inspiring.

If you hold yourself out to be a pro or just really want to make sure all of those family photos are preserved and will not disappear with the next act of God then check out this excellent video form Case Jarvis and his workflow. I emulate much of this workflow just on a smaller scale since Reebok and Nike have not contacted me yet for a five figure corporate shoot. There is no excuse for screwing up a clients images if you are being paid by loosing them under any circumstance. Educate yourself then conquer the world. Stay sexy ya'll.

Welcome Ryder Henry

I had an awesome photo shoot recently with an incredible little boy. The moment this little guy got to the studio he stole the show. I shot this little guy for about one and a half hours and he was so good and accommodating the whole time. I can definitely see how he would immediately capture the heart of anyone who would have the honor of meeting him. I had instructed his parents to be prepared if he began to protest and we would call it and come back another day but he never put up a fuss one bit. Both Matt and Christy were the best. It showed they were definitely proud brand new parents as well they should be with a little boy like Ryder. It was my pleasure and honor capturing Ryder's first photos. Enjoy the slideshow!!!!

The images Florian turns out are truly inspiring to me. the way he stalks his shots sometimes taking days, weeks or months of revisiting locations until he comes away with shots he is proud of is what high quality photography is all about. What's In The Bag w/ Jim McHugh- Fine Art photographer needs instant grat

Do yourself a favor and check out this phenomenal photographer, Jim McHugh as he discusses his process for capturing his images. I was glued to this video as he uses Graflex 4X5 view cameras with Polaroids. This is photography at it's essence. I have said many times that the resurgence of film will be rapid and drastic as people move from the instant gratification of digital to the center of the art form again. I love shooting film and digital but the nostalgia associated with my film work is a pure love and respect for the medium. This will be a real treat. There are three parts to this interview please watch them all.

I get a news feed from The Strobist and he turned me onto this video that is almost one hours worth of excellent learning about a on location commercial shoot that could normally cost you but is provided for free by Photoshelter. Photoshelter has some great learning for free so check em out and enjoy this excellent on location lighting session. Guess I really really really need an Elinchrom 74" Octa now.
